Synopsis
My animation short “The Earth’s Core” is a tale for all ages. It is a fable based on a simple fantasy idea. It is a story about an apple collector that needs to feed a creature inside the Earth in order to keep the world rotating.

The subject matter is used to highlight our diminishing natural resources. In my animation the apple collector doesn’t treasure his cargo, because of this the apples are wasted and the natural balance is harmed.

This story is very personal to me because I wrote the script and spent a year working on this piece. I have chosen 2D animation because I enjoy drawing, coloring and combining mix media in postproduction.

I have experience working in a group project, producing the award winning short “The Happy Duckling” and this gave me the confidence to manage my graduation film by myself. During the production, I collaborated with 3 students and worked closely with my sound composer to complete this project.

I hope my film will not only entertain but also make you think, taking to heart the message that this fable has at its core.
